Hitler's birthplace to go on sale with £2m price tag
London, November 05: The present owner of the house in Austria where Adolf Hitler was born is planning to put it up for sale at a starting price of above 2 million pounds, it has emerged.
However, local authority in Braunau-am-Inn intends to oppose the sale to private individuals, as it fears extreme right-wingers could buy it.
Braunau mayor Gerhard Skiba suggested that the best deal would be for the town to purchase it, but unfortunately the city coffers do not have enough money to buy Salzburger Vorstadt 15.
Skiba has asked help, on behalf of the town, from the government in Vienna to buy the property, reports The Scotsman.
Also, historians are suggesting turning the house into a museum.
