Pankaj Advani wins bronze in Asian Indoor Games
Hanoi, November 7: Ace Indian cueist Pankaj Advani capped his Asian Indoor Games campaign by winning a bronze medal in the English Billiards singles' category.
Advani blanked Myanmar's Kyaw Oo 3-0 in the third place play off which saw reigning world champion at his usual best after his rather disappointing show in the biennial event.
Advani routed Kyaw 100-16, 100-58, 100-11 after losing his semifinal encounter to Singapore's Peter Gilchrist 102-53 00-102 41-100 32-102.
Veteran Indian cueist Geet Sethi however had a disappointing outing as he failed to go beyond the quarter-finals of the same event, the only category in which he had participated.
Sethi, after winning the first game, lost the match 92-100 102-71 80-101 95-100 to Kyaw.
Advani had earlier failed to go past the initial rounds of the 6-Red Snooker and 15-Red Snooker discipline.
